Isamu Hirano 1954- |

Born Ashibetsu in 1954. He graduated from Rakuno Gakuen University. He studied guitar with Chuzo Shibuya, Jose Luis Gonzarez and Jose Thomas, and composition and music theory with Mamoru Kawagoe. Hirano was awarded the first prize in Hokkaido Guitar Competition, and won the Classical Guitar Competition in 1978, and also won the 1st Arrangement Competition in 2005. Presently Hirano is active as a performer, educator, composer and arranger. As a performer, he released CD "Grace" in 2002, and he played at many towns in Hokkaido as "Hikari" concert tour in 2004 . As a composer and arranger, he published guitar method and many arrangements from Gendai Guitar etc, and composed Road Runner for Nintendo game software. As an educator, he is teaching guitar at Yamaha Music School, NHK Culture Center, and his own studios in Sapporo. He is a member of Japan Guitarist Society, Ebetsu Music Friend, and a committee member of music division of Sapporo Art Festival. |
