Born Buenos Aires in 1976. When he was a child he was interested in folklore music, and at 10 years old he began to study the guitar by himself. His original song "Lailala was awarded the second prize in Festival de Folklore de Cosquin in 1997. Also he received the first prize of both divisions, instrumental group division and male vocal division in Baradero 1998 (Festival de Musica Popular Argentina). From 1999 to 2000, he palyed as player of guitar, charango, and Vocalist in Bolivian music group "Los Laikas", and visited Japan twice and joined their recording of 3CD. Since 2003 he lives in Tokyo, and received the third prize in Classical Guitar Competition in 2003. In 2005 Asselborn founded a duo "Topo&Ariel" with a quena player Yohei Yamashita, and they released CD"Free Talk", which contains only their original compositions in May 2005. |
