Born in Hyogo, Japan in 1975. He has graduated composition at the Tokyo College of Music. He studied composition with Yoshito Abe, Reiko Arima, Sei Ikeno and Yutaka Fujiwara.

In 1995, He was nominated to Sogaku Song Composition Competition. In 2002, his piece was selected for the 26th Tokyo PTNA Piano Competition. His orchestral piece ‘The Star Thrower’ was highly commended in the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award 2003 (investigated by George Benjamin), and also in the 14th Akutagawa Aword for Music Composition in 2004. In 2005, his piece was performed on ‘ Yasutaka Hemmi/Aki Takahashi duo ricital ’ in Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival. In 2006, He gained the 1st Japan Guitar Music Composition Competition. He won in the first prize in the 2nd Osaka International Mandolin Competition for mandolin ensemble.

Since 2006, he became the commissioner and the resident composer of the Ensemble Roca. He lives in Saitama, Japan. He has taken part of teach at Tsukuba Academy of Music.
