Noriyasu TAKEUCHI (b.1955)

(Guitarist/Arranger/Composer)

Born in Tokyo. He graduated from Waseda University. He studied classical guitar with late Kazumasa Ishizuki and Yoshi Takefuji. Also Takeuchi attended many masterclasses of Leo Brouwer, Jose Luis Gonzarelz and Oscar Ghiglia. In 1980, he received the first prize at the 7th Guitar Competition in Japan, and was awarded the third prize at the Tokyo International Guitar Competition in 1983.

In 1983, he began the activity as a player, and has made many concerts: solo and chamber music, also played at all the major halls and theatres in Japan.

As a arranger, he wrote numerous pieces, published them as anthologies from many publishers: Doremi, Shinko, Gendai Guitar etc. In 1995, he arranged Beatles songs for Swedish guitarist Goran Sollscher's CD The Fool on the Hill (Deutsche Grammophon). In 2000, he gave Norwegian Wood to Mr. Sollscher for his CD From Yesterday to Penny Lane (the same label).
