Born in Hirosaki, Aomori 1966. At age 14, he was a self-taught guitar player and composer. In 1988, he graduated from Hirosaki University with a degree in music education. In 1990, he won 2nd place in the 21st Classical Guitar Competition. In addition, his composition Rondo for Piano was adopted as the required piece for the solo division of PTNA Young Pianist Competition. Sato's guitar teachers include the late Norihiko Watanabe and Shiki Nagashima. Presently he is active as an educator, arranger, and composer. As a performer, his concerts involve solo and ensemble performances. He is a member of the Tokyo Guitar Quartet (founded in 1995). He has released albums, Sato Hirokazu Original Collection - Autmun Sonatina, Simple Song and 12 Songs Around the Seasons (Gendai Guitar), as well as Scene in Blue (Fontec), Reminiscence and Four Elements (Gendai Guitar) with the Tokyo Guitar Quartet. |
