He was a graduate from Musashino Academia Musicae. He won the grand prize for the PTNA Duo Competition with Katsumi Tanaka. Iida works with diverse genres from classical to popular music. He has worked on considerable projects in the past. Some of these projects include the collaboration with composer Takashi Kokubo in producing more than 10 albums, and presenting music for Roppongi Hills, Hamanako International Flower Festival, and the Aichi Expo. He has also collaborated with composers Seiichi Sato and Daisuke Okamoto. As a pianist, he works with such singers as Minehaha and Chizuru Kato, as well as violinist Naoki Kita of Tangophobics, Yukako Hurudate of Gypsy Band, koto player Mieko Miyazaki, and guitarist Noriyasu Takeuchi. His musical activities also extend to performances with the orchestra for the Shiki Theater Company, playing solo for Yatsugatake Music Hall, and the TV Asahi VOICE3 to name a few. Currently he holds adjunct lecturer positions at St. Margaret's Junior College and Japan Industrial Technical College. |
